The Insurance of Life

Life is unpredictable, filled with joy, challenges, and unexpected moments. The poem captures this journey, highlighting how life insurance acts as a promise to protect those we love. It’s not just about money—it’s about ensuring dreams endure, even when life takes unexpected turns.

From teaching us resilience through tough times to cherishing memories with loved ones, the poem reminds us to show kindness and secure what matters most. Life insurance is a simple act of love, a way to care for family and build a legacy of grace.

Life is a path with twists and turns, Some days it shines, some days it burns.
Some friends stay close, hold our hand tight,
Others slip away into the night.

Good times bring smiles that light up our way,
Tough times teach lessons that shape what we say.
The worst leave scars, but we learn and grow,
The best leave memories that forever glow.

Life insurance is a promise we make,
For those we love, for their heart’s sake.
Not just for money or things we might lose,
But to keep dreams alive, for the ones we choose.

Some let us down when we trust them the most,
While others surprise us, their kindness a boast.
Some see our flaws and still share in our cheer,
Others wipe tears when our mistakes appear.

Don’t blame or judge when life feels unfair,
Instead, show love, show you truly care.
Protect what matters, with heart and with grace,
For love is the light in life’s every place.

How to control unwanted thoughts

What are unwanted thoughts?

It is found in research that around 60,000 thoughts come into our minds daily. It is not possible to react at all. These thoughts come automatically and we are unaware of their arrival of these. Most of these thoughts are unnecessary and useless. When we think about anything, thoughts related to that particular thing come to our minds. These are natural thoughts that are necessary.

But sometimes, when we are not thinking about any particular thing or subject, many thoughts come into our mind, these are unnecessary or unwanted thoughts. Despite not wanting, they keep running in our minds. These unwanted thoughts disturb our concentration, due to which we are not able to use the full power of our mind.

Now the question is how we can get rid of these unwanted thoughts. So let us talk about the ways to stop unwanted thoughts.

Expressing thoughts

Make a habit to express your thoughts. It will reduce the rate of arrival of thoughts in your mind. When you express thoughts, for a time, unrelated thoughts stop. It enhances the performance of the mind. When you are expressing thoughts your mind is not in the position to attend to any other thought. So it is very beneficial to express thoughts.

Be the witness

The very first thing to do is to sit and observe the thoughts which are running in your mind, just like sitting on the bank of the river and watching the stream of the river. Just sit and observe. Let the thought run free, let it come and go. Don't do anything, don't hinder, don't suppress. If an idea comes, don't try to stop it. You just become a witness.

This will separate you from your thoughts. At that time you will realize that the thoughts are separate from you because the one who is observing the thoughts will be separate from the thoughts. You may be in the midst of worries but the concern is not yours, you may be in the midst of problems but the problems are not yours. You may be surrounded by thoughts, but you are not thought. This will weaken unwanted thoughts.

Self-talk

Self-talk is the way of expressing thoughts. When you have no one to talk with, you should talk with yourself. It will release your stress. When you talk to yourself unwanted thoughts disappear.

Meditation

Meditation is one of the oldest methods to relieve stress. The practice of meditation is very helpful in tranquilizing the mind. When the mind becomes peaceful unwanted thoughts disappear automatically.

Divert your thoughts

When you feel that a lot of unnecessary thoughts are coming into your mind frequently, divert your mind towards another topic. After diverting your mind you will see, that all unnecessary thoughts stop. Our mind works on only one thought at a time with full efficiency. When more thoughts come, the mind can't work on any of them efficiently. So by diverting your mind you can divert the thoughts.

unwanted intrusive thoughts

Stop overthinking

Overthinking is very harmful to mental health. This leads to bad mental health. When we overthink, we destroy our mental ability to react to things, distinguish between good and bad, and go deeper into even any small topic.

So try to stop overthinking. Set your goal and concentrate on it. Be aware of coming thoughts. Always remember the thoughts running in the sky of the mind are as far as the outer sky from you. Become your own spectator. Notice the doer and seer inside. When you realize doer and seer are different, overthinking stops.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Is the "TRUST" a "Strength" or a "Weakness"??

“Do you trust me??? Do you believe that all information in here, is true???” It is very difficult to trust people these days, almost impossible. Trust has become extremely expensive that it is rarely found. It is so rare that when someone says “I trust him”, people around would be surprised, “What!!! Are you sure that you trust????”

Are the above statements true???

TRUST เค•เฅ‡ เคฒเคฟเค เคšเคฟเคคเฅเคฐ เคชเคฐเคฟเคฃเคพเคฎ
In any relationship ๐Ÿ’‘, when Someone say “I trust you”, what does it mean?
It means that I believe you. Whatever you say or do, I completely believe that it is the truth.

Later, if you get to know that I lied to you, then??
Naturally, I will lose my trust in you. If you have betrayed me, then am I a fool to trust you again?? You cannot take me for granted ๐Ÿ˜ก. I trusted you because I love you. I am honest to you and you should also be the same. If there is no honesty/ transparency in relationships, then what is the use of such a bond??

TRUST เค•े เคฒिเค เคšिเคค्เคฐ เคชเคฐिเคฃाเคฎ

Well, it is true that all relationships are made of love, understanding, compassion and TRUST. But the mistake we made was, in the understanding of what TRUST is…

TRUST is the complete acceptance of a person, the way she/he is. My TRUST totally depends on my mindset/ my attitude and never on the other person. When I truly trust people, I will be able to understand the reason behind one’s behavior. I will be able to help them and this strengthens my relationships.

We thought TRUST was when people behave in a way I expect them to be. I create an image of people like “he will always be true, kind, understanding, etc”. Based on our values, we would create an image and expect people to follow the same. If not done, we call it as betrayal and choose not to believe in him/ her any more. We begin to doubt the other and this disease of suspicion spoils the relationship.

No way. we need to be true to each other. This is not an expectation. This is the main mandatory quality for the relation to last long.

True. But, “Honesty, sincerity cannot be demanded from others.” We need to accept this truth. Any person would be true, only if he/ she is completely accepted by the other...

For Example:
A– Husband,        B- Wife,      X- Ex-girl friend of A

Say, X gifted a bouquet for A’s first marriage anniversary. If the wife B, was a person who would create anger and irritation for anything related to X, would the husband A, have the courage to tell this truth to his wife? Would he not want a happy loving wife on his anniversary? Would he take the risk of speaking the truth when he knows that it would spoil his day?? Is it fair on the wife to get angry and feel betrayed if the husband had lied regarding the gift?

95% of the people are ready to speak the truth, only if they were accepted by others. No one wants to cheat. Can any person be happy and peaceful when he cheats? Will there not be a sense of fear of getting caught, fear of facing the consequences or insecurity??

When we learn to trust people, irrespective of their behavior, we are sowing seeds to strong relationships.

But how is it possible? If your husband/wife had cheated you once, how can you ever believe him/her again? It is natural to doubt his/her actions. you fear if he/she would cheat you again. What is the guarantee that he/she would not repeat it? If he/she does so, you are the person who is most affected. How can you accept him/her blindly?

If the person (husband or wife) is important, if the relationship is of first priority to us, then the only best way to save the bond is to understand the reason behind his actions and help him to come out of it.

TRUST is a strong positive energy which strengthens relationships. DOUBT is a strong negative energy which breaks relationships. We should not create any thought of doubt like “Will he be true this time? He/she is going out, should I check on him? He/She has transferred huge money to someone, to whom? Why?” When we speak with an intention of doubt within, we radiate energy of doubt and this is dangerous for the relationship.

We need to believe and also tell the person (husband or wife) that we completely trust him/her, i.e. accept him/her with all his/her positives and negatives. We are there to help him out in all his/her challenges. With this intention, all our words and actions will radiate love and protection. When we express our trust, it becomes a source of responsibility for the other. When people know that they are being trusted, they are at their best, be it at work or in relationships.

Let's take an another example :-

If, I have a 20 year old girl. We are a happy family. I have loved, accepted and trusted her in all stages of life. Yet, though she knew that we are looking out for an alliance for her, and she married a person whom she loved, without our knowledge. Is this not called betrayal?? We are hurt badly and just cannot accept her as our child anymore. God too has betrayed me. Trust hurts!!!!

I understand that when children take life changing decisions on their own, without the consent of parents, it is shocking. Parents are children’s best friends at all times. Parent’s intentions are always true and pure. But, we just need check patiently, with an open mind and complete stability as to why it happened. This emotional stability is possible only if we accept the child completely without judging or criticizing her. Trust never hurts people. When we trust, we need to check, “Am I OK if the person whom I trust behaves/ works in a way which I may not feel right?” IF I feel the answer is YES, only then it means that “I trust”. God never betrays. He gives us the knowledge about the good and guides us. All that happens to us in a given moment is the best that can ever happen and all happenings are only due to our karma.

I understand trust binds people but does it mean that we blindly need to accept what everyone says and does? No verification or checking needed whatsoever? Then why do we have reviews at work??

When we send our kids to play in someone’s house or to any class should we not check on who are there and various safety measures? Does this mean that we doubt others?

Trust or complete acceptance is the key for smooth and peaceful relationships. Reviews, verifying if the work is done right are the means to perform our responsibilities. Mistakes do happen at all levels and with all people. No one is perfect. Reviewing means that we accept the mistakes, aim at improving the present condition and learn how to avoid them in future.

Taking safety measures is essential. Being cautious helps prevent accidents. Doubt is when we create thoughts like “Are the people there not safe? Will they misbehave? Are all other people good? Will they be rude?” Doubt creates fear, restlessness and a small incident will blow our anger and create stress and tension in life.

TRUST is a feeling that
     1.     keeps us very comfortable and peaceful within
     2.     lets people behave/ work the way they feel is right
     3.     enables us to accept and handle mistakes with a positive approach

We often say that people are not trustworthy. There are people who always speak in a way which is far from reality. It is not intentional but that is their habit.

Example:
*At work, people would not have started the assignment/ project/ work but they would say that they would finish it soon.
*If people are late and have not yet returned home, when we ring-up (call by phone/ mobile), they would say that they are on the way. But they would be at workplace or watching a movie/ serial in someone’s house.
How can we trust such people??

When we know that people have such habits, it better to accept them their way. We often term people as “trustworthy”, meaning, he is a reliable person or he is true to his words. Actually, the more we trust people, the more we radiate this energy of trust, the more “trustworthy” they become. It may not be seen soon. But the power of TRUST is so powerful that it helps people to be true towards us. “I TRUST YOU”, when told with complete belief, is a source of power to the other.

Let us experiment this energy and see its effects before we believe in it. Never label a person as “cheater or not trustworthy”. The moment we label them so, we start looking at them through this glass and this weakens and spoils work and relationships.

TRUST SHOULD BE THE FIRST FEELING TO COME IN A RELATIONSHIP AND THE LAST TO GO, IN FACT SHOULD NEVER GO

 ๐Ÿ™ THANK YOU ๐Ÿ™

Life is a long journey between human being and being humane : Stop Limiting Life's Possibility

From ants and worms to software engineer and doctors, every creature on earth earns its living. Despite our vast intellect humanity has invested all its consciousness into what could be just one small aspect of life.

Rather than limiting our possibility, it is time we engineer ourselves towards realizing our full human potential...

Let's try to understand that...

So, this is the nature of the human being, whatever we deprived of, we think that is the highest thing...

whatever we don't have, looks like a that moment that is the highest thing. Like, If you not eating for two days, "Food" will be "God"... Yes or No...

Yes... Isn't it... If you don't understand this, then do a little experiment... "Close your mouth and hold your nose for two minutes... Then, tell me, will you ask for :"Air" or "God". Obviously for Air...

If God comes and say, "You want air or me". Then Obviously, you will say, I want to breathe because whatever at that moment you deprived of or in other words when you are in any state of compulsiveness, you don't say anything the way it is, you exaggerated...

Like, if your bladder is full, and I say, wait a minute, I'm talking about enlightenment...
And your bladder is too full... Would you be interested in it... No... You would say, "I don't want any knowledge"... Right now, going to the washroom finally seems necessary... yes or no...

So just about anything, when you are in a state of compulsiveness, you don't seem anything the way it is... At that moment, Life will get distorted to make you think, that is it...

So, Like this our human life passes from one compulsive state to another, never allowing yourself that little bit of space where you could see things the way they are... If you do not even see, Life the way it is, can you handle it the way it needs to be handle... It doesn't.. Isn't it...

If you don't see, things the way they are, you can never handle it, the way things to be handle... Because of this, in many ways individual human life and whole societies have become distorted humanity...

A lot of times, I talk to 14 or 16 year olds (both boys and girls) about what they're going to do next because they're in 10th or something and I can't believe they're just talking about finding "jobs and earning a living". Why??? I can't believe it because till today I have never thought of earning a living...

Mostly youth talking about, Like, I want to become a doctor, a software engineer or something else. I'm not saying it is not important... All, I'm saying is even an ant which is one millionth of your brain is capable of earning a living... Then, What's your problem with such a big brain... Why I'm saying of this is, this idea, this horribly limiting idea has been imposed into the our youths that you must earned a living and that's the biggest thing...

Is for big brain earning a living is actually a biggest problem on this planet??? Do you really think so... I know everybody is conditioned to believe that, but I think it is not so... It is not so...

"Earning a living is a petty thing for human consciousness but unfortunately all humanity investing all its energy and intelligence in just earning a living".

If this one thing doesn't change in the world that I'm not saying one should not, but all I'm saying is, it needs not occupy, the entirety of human consciouness to earn a living... if you put one, a little finger to work, it earn a living, is capable, it is capable for that...

But, A human being is constantly longing to be something more than what he is right now. If he knows only money, he is thinking of a little more money; if he knows power, a little more power; if he knows love, a little more love. There is something within him that will not settle for who he is.

In whatever way you know best, you are trying to be a little more. But if you apply your awareness and look at it, you can clearly see that you are not seeking money, property, love or pleasure. What you are seeking is expansion. How much expansion would settle you for good? If you look at this, you can clearly see that you are looking for infinite expansion. Every human being wants to expand in a limitless way. But right now, we are trying to become infinite through installments of conquest, by capturing the world, or shopping. The longing to expand is finding expression in so many ways, which are all physical.

The physical realm, however large it may seem to you, is a limited realm. Right now, our very economies are built like this: it is all about more, more and more. Every country is talking about growth rate. This means everyone has to buy more and use more. But where is that “more”?
All human genius is being withered to death simply because everybody is thinking how to earn a living... how to earn a living... you know...

The moment they can earn a living, they will sit down and become fatty...๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜„

You must be saying what can I do with this life... Isn't it... Yes, you must be saying, what is the greatest thing I can do with this life... Because one day you fall dead... Do you know???

Do you know you fall dead one day??? So before you die, whatever is the peak possibility for this life should happen... Isn't it...

"I earn my living, I earn my living๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜" Is this a big pride??? Why don't you see every insect, every worm, every bird, every animal, every creature on this planet earning a living... What is there will be so proud of about I earn my own living... Everybody is earning their own living.. Isn't it... Only "Human beings" are making a big issue out of it...

When I looked at it, How human intelligence has been sacrificed for the sake to earn a living, how many thing they could have done, Even how many incredible things they could have done but instead of that they are earning a living...

So, it is very very important and I'm just thinking that we should start a way, particularly in schools and colleges, that earning a living is not prime motto, is a damn little thing, it is not the prime of your life.

Even, with the one little finger you can earn a living and don't forget you have a big brain...

Do you know when earn living becomes a problem???

That is become a problem because you want to become a somebody else... Isn't it... You want to be like somebody else... And once you enter this "Chakkar", Nothing else is possible, just keeps you going and going and going endlessly...

When there is no compulsiveness to act, you will naturally do what is most needed. Right now, what I see is most needed in the world is that people can move at least one notch up in the way they experience life. It would be a huge relief for themselves and for the planet.
Action should always be the way the situation requires it, but whatever our action, we can remain joyful within us. Life is not a trap, "everything that you do is actually an act,". Either you do it consciously or compulsively. If you do it compulsively, you think it is real. If you do it consciously, then only it becomes beautiful.

So, there is need to be engineering yourself... Engineering yourself doesn't mean that to breathe little better, to be little more healthy... No, this is about realizing the full potential that is means to be human...

Inner Engineering which means Happiness Unlimited....

We all love to be happy; in fact happiness is the main goal of our life. We study, work and earn to be and make our family happy. But in spite of doing everything, at the end of day, are we happy?

Do you want to be happy? When? How often?

I want to be happy always, every moment. I know it may not sound practical, but given a chance I would prefer to be so.

If you are a parent, what do you think will bring happiness?
Obviously, kids. Their happiness, their success in every step of life, their growth in academics, extra- curricular activities, social behavior, higher studies, career, married life and so on.

So is your happiness dependent on your kids performance in every phase of their life?
Yes, very true. That will be the biggest gift they can give me.

If you are a student, what do you think will bring happiness?
I will be happy, when

--> My parents love me and accept me the way I am.
--> I am allowed to go out with my friends to parks, films. restaurants, etc.
--> I get all that I want.
--> I score good marks and top the ranking list
--> I am appreciated for my work.

******************************************
There is no doubt that children should study sincerely, work hard and score good marks. It is very important for their future. But, never ever make kids feel, that their marks are the source of our happiness. Now, it becomes more of a pressure to them. Kids cannot perform well under pressure.

As a parent (at home or work place), can we work at our best, when we are pressurized? Do we prefer it?

It is high time, that we all understand what gives us happiness. In fact, we should clearly be aware of what gives us what.
We all need to
Study ---> to score good marks
Marks ---> promotion to higher classes (with distinction)
Good% in higher classes ---> admission into good colleges ---> placement in MNC/ reputed companies (my first job) or admission in universities abroad for higher studies.
High salary/ money ---> to buy various things like house, land, cars, fridge, TVs, sofa set, AC, iPad, Tablets, gaming consoles, camera, all sophisticated gadgets, etc.
--->travel throughout the world
--->pay fees, rent
--->buy all that money can buy
Accomplishments/awards ---> gives us recognition/ fame/ popularity/ promotions
Food --->satisfies hunger, gives taste
Water ---> quenches thirst
Bed/ Sofa/ AC/ fridge ---> gives comfort
Cars/ iphones ---> commute/communicate
All physical things serve their own physical purpose. Nothing external (items, achievements, possessions) can create happiness in us.
We often rely on such things to make us feel happy. Example:
I will be happy if i become an IAS
I will be happy if I get a Honda car
I will be happy if I get that new expensive dress
I will be happy if I live in US
I will be happy only if I get married.
I can be happy only if I get a very tasty and delicious meal.

All these physical items/happenings can never create happiness in us, if it can, then all people having a Honda car must be happy or all people in US must be happy, or does it happen so? Are all married people happy always? Well, that’s a different story altogether...

Say, I got the new dress which I wanted and there are many people appreciating that dress, like, “what a nice dress, the material is very good, the design is unique, it suits you so well” and so on. But, there may be people who comment negatively like, “This doesn’t go so well with you, it is old fashioned” and so on. Now, the same dress which I thought made me happy, has now become a cause for my sadness. Then I go to other people and ask, "my dress is nice na? It costs Rs2000...." until people reaffirm that my dress is wonderful. So, what am I doing? Literally begging people for appreciation, so that I am happy. Indirectly, I am standing like a beggar asking people for my happiness. :(

With regard to relationship,
I will be happy only if you do this(even something that your inner soul not allowing you) for me.
I will be happy, if you finish your work on time.
I will be happy, if you score above 95%.
I will be happy only if you become a doctor
I can be happy only if you adjust with me
I can be happy only if you help me
I can be happy only if you try to understand me
I can be happy only if you get promoted and earn more
I can be happy if you dress well and look smart
I can be happy only if I am being appreciated by all or at least from my close friends and family.

We always want other people to change, understand and adjust according to us but when the same is expected from us, we feel “why should I do it always?” Other people, be it, siblings, children/ spouse/ in-laws/ parents/ friends/ colleagues, will always be different from us.

To have good relationships always and always remember, "Nobody is right or wrong/ good or bad, we are all different" and we need to accept this fact. The sooner we accept, the happier we will be.

We should always remember, “People and situations will never be according to my definition of right or according to any general definition of right.” People will always behave in a way, they feel is right, which I may feel it wrong. The moment we understand them from their perspective, then we will be able to empathize them, this is called compassion.

For me to be happy, I can only think about what I can do, to stay happy and not what others should do. The moment I rely on others for my happiness, I start losing it.

Some of us, in order to be happy, we
Watch films, Listen to music
Go for shopping/ outing
Go to restaurants/ hotels
Watching films/ TV programs serves as a means of entertainment.

Listen.... Shopping/ outing gives us a change in atmosphere.
Hotels- change in food.

None of these create happiness in us. If they create, are we always happy when we do any of these?

"If you wait for happy moments, you'll wait forever,
But if you start believing that you are happy, you will be happy forever."

Is there anything physical/ external, that is permanent/ never changes at all?
NO.
Then, why do we rely on them for our happiness? We need to clearly understand what and why we perform many activities in life. If we perform it in a happy state of mind, we will enjoy doing it, hence we are happy and will radiate happiness to people around. If we like to sing, when we do so, we are happy. If we like to draw, we remain happy while doing so.

But life is unpredictable or uncertain. There are many things in life that we need to do, whether we want to or not. So we first need to understand why we are doing it and then do it. If we don’t try to understand the reason, we end up grumbling or create a victim feeling, like “poor me, I have to do this for them, I don’t want to do, yet I am doing only for their happiness” and so on.

Let's try to understand with some examples:

1. I am currently working in a firm and I like my job. After my marriage, my in-laws want me to take care of all household works. They do not want me to work. My husband also feels the same. Since I am interested in working, I explain to them that I can very well manage home and office. I try to do my best in both. Yet I feel that there are misunderstandings in family as I am still going to work.

Now, I have a choice.

1. I either need to convince my family gently about my preference, it’s financial reasons and see if it works out.
 (OR)
2. I understand that my relationship with my husband and in-laws is more important to me and I decide to quit.
 (OR)
3. I just continue to work, irrespective of any problems in my relationship because my career is important to me
 (OR)
4. I just can’t tolerate the fights within my family, I want peace. So just for their sake, I quit my job.

In either 1 or 2, the choice that I make is for my own happiness.
In 3, I give more priority to my work than to my relationship. Here, I will be filled with hatred towards my family and there cannot be happiness in a place where there is no love.
In 4, I blame others for my decision, “quitting the job”. Hence I will be repenting for it later in my life which is surely not going to give me happiness.
Hence my decision is my choice and when I understand that, I will be happy in whatever I do.

2. I am a student and there are options for me to choose my main stream subjects: pure science, computer or commerce. My parents are doctors, so they want me to choose pure science. I am good in drawing too. But I want to become a CA, so I want to choose commerce. My parents force me to take pure science as they feel I am capable of it but I am interested in commerce. Again it is my choice:
· I either convince my parents that since I am interested I will be able to do my best in it. As it is my decision, I will be responsible and study sincerely.
 (OR)
· Since my parents know my capability better, I understand that their decision will be best for me. I also feel that they will be able to help me better.
 (OR)
· I blindly opt for the subject I am interested in without any discussion with my parents.
 (OR)
· I don’t want to disappoint my parents, so I blindly opt for their choice, for their satisfaction.
In the first 2 choices, I completely understand what and why I am choosing a subject. I am clear and stable within. Hence I know my decision is my choice and so I will do it happily.
In the last 2 choices, I take a decision just out of an emotional outburst, which is filled with irritation/ selfishness/ victim feeling. So in these 2 cases I cannot be happy.

Hence in any given situation in life, we need to sit and think patiently as to what is my priority in life. Is it relationship or career? Is it family or only myself? Is it financial status or comfort? Depending on the situation, we need to first remain calm and stable within, then, analyze and understand the advantage and disadvantage of our choices. We need to feel responsible for our actions and decisions, only then can we do our best and have a positive view of life.

In any given situation (which we call “problem”) in life, we always have a choice and we need to understand this.

Desires, expectations and comparison are a huge hindrance to our happiness.

Desires are the “wants” that we create in our mind. We can have desires in life but don’t make our happiness dependent on those. For example, I may want to buy a table or a dress or want to win a game or want to go abroad for higher studies/ work. All such desires are good and will motivate us to do our best. But if we do not get what we wanted, we should have the mindset to understand that we have done our best and leave the results to God. We can also analyze on our performance, make corrections if any, and try again. We cannot get all that we want but we can be contented with all that we have (in terms of materialistic possessions).

We create an image of a person in our mind and assume that he/she will be like that image; this is called expectation. We can expect from people, provided we have the mindset to accept it’s outcome. When we expect high marks from our kids, we need to know their capability first. Before every expectation, we need to understand the other person from his perspective.

Like, Most of them expect a lot from their spouse and when they are not met, most of the time people are unable to accept them. This causes pain. Let us not create an image about other people in our minds and then expect that they should match with that image. It is impossible to match. We should accept people the way they are, rather than to expect.

Acceptance is the key to be free of mental pressures.

When can expectations affect us?
1. When people don't behave the way I want
2. When work does not happen as per my plan
3. When situations in life are unfavorable to me (does not happen the way I want)
Practically,
Can all people around me (friends/family) have the same opinion like mine?
Can everyone have the same attitude like mine?
Can everyone have the same like and dislikes like me?
Can all of us think the same way, all the time?

Definitely NO.
So, can people have their own definitions of right and wrong? YES
Again, let me state, "Nobody is right or wrong/ good or bad, we are all different"

When we all know that people are unique in their own way, it is easy to accept them the way they are. Acceptance means to completely accept them as an individual (not branding them like "a loser", "a slow coach", "dirty goose", "fit for nothing", etc) and try to correct them affectionately, if we feel their action is not good for them.

We expect friends/ family to like our posts/ status/ photos on facebook. We always expect people to appreciate us. It does not matter if it is true or not.
For example, When someone prepare a dish with love for their spouse, they expect him/ her to say, “it is delicious, yummy ” or at least stay quiet. Even if it was not good, we expect this “little” from him/her. If someone was honest with us and says “this time it was not that good”, we are unable to accept it.

Are we so powerless that we depend on people’s lies for our happiness?
Don't we have the attitude to listen and accept the truth?
Never let the comments of other people affect us in any way. When someone comments negatively, we just need to check their statements. If it is true, then we need to change else, just ignore. People are bound to have their own opinions about us.

The opinion that I hold about someone, depends on my mindset and not on the other person.

The lesser is our desires and expectations, the happier we will be.

Comparison is due to the lack of self respect We should analyze, understand and accept our strengths and weaknesses. We should gauge ourselves first. Never compare with others and feel we are not good. All of us are unique in our own way.

Now we understand that HAPPINESS lies within us always and it is our choice how much we make use of it. If we make it dependent on external things which are not in our control or which are bound to changes, then our happiness is also bound to fluctuate, means, sometimes sad, sometimes angry/ irritated, sometimes happy. When we truly accept that the decision we take is our choice depending on our priorities, we will be happy in whatever we do.

All emotional feelings are self created (in our control) and all external (body related) feelings are due to external factors(not in our control).

Emotional feelings- happiness, love, peace, trust, understanding, concern, sadness, worry, anger, etc.

External feelings- feeling warm, cold, pain, numbness, tingles, etc.

At times, depending on the situation we create anger, sadness, worry, tension, depression and many such feelings. I am sure none of us are comfortable with these negative feelings.

When we are filled with those, we need to quickly stop and think what caused it, what were the thoughts within is due to which we created such feelings. Then, we need to find alternate ways of approach to the same situation and prepare us better emotionally.

We should not try to escape from our emotions, not continue to live with that self pity/ victim feeling and definitely not leave it to TIME. If we do so, it will get deeply ingrained in our consciousness and every time any situation occurs, that impression will get created and our sadness becomes our prevailing mood.

“Time is the best healer”, this is a very common statement, but is it true? Along with time, we need to change ourselves emotionally. Only time cannot help us out, until and unless, we try to help ourselves.

For example: Many people, when depressed, try to escape from it by drinking alcohol/ smoking, some watch movies/ listen to songs, there are many who just work continuously, in order to divert their minds from the emotion. All these methods only give a temporary change but will not resolve the problem. So, we need to face the emotion, accept it and take the responsibility of changing it.

Happiness is within us always, we just need to activate it. We need not search for it anywhere outside. Let us not make our happiness dependent on physical entities which is ever changing. All emotions and feelings like happiness, love, compassion, purity, understanding, caring, patience, etc are created by us. No one outside or nothing external is responsible for my feelings.

A man asked a sculptor: How do you make such beautiful idols from stone?
He replied: Idols and images are already there, I remove the unwanted stone only.

Message is: “Happiness is hidden within us, we only need to remove the worries”.
